3-D Secure Service

To provide a safe and secure online payment for VIB International Cardholders, VIB and MasterCard officially launch 3-D Secure service applicable for all VIB International Cardholders where the online payments are made at merchants using MasterCard SecureCode

Before completing transaction, Cardholder will be required to input an authentication code in order to verify the genuine transaction made by Cardholder. Authentication code is One Time Password (OTP) sent to Cardholder’s registered mobile phone number via SMS or other forms stipulated by VIB from time to time.

1. What is 3-D Secure service?

3-D Secure is a new advanced service offered by VIB and MasterCard. This service is to provide Cardholder a safe and secure environment when making online payment at participating merchants displaying logo MasterCard SecureCode. This service will verify Cardholder during online payment process. Cardholder is required to input OTP sent by VIB before completion of the payment.

2. How does it work?

An OTP will be sent to Cardholder’s registered mobile phone number when making online payment.

3. How to make an online purchase with 3-D Secure service:

Step 1: Cardholder purchases at participating merchants displaying logo
Step 2: Cardholder inputs required information for payment.
Step 3: Cardholder inputs OTP sent by VIB.
Step 4: VIB will authenticate the input OTP.
Step 5: Transaction is processed and completed.

How to register?

3-D Secure service is applied by default without any additional cost for all VIB International Cardholders. Registration is not required.

4. Should I apply for a new card to use this service?

You can register this service for your existing card(s). You do not need to apply for a new card to use this service.

5. When is 3-D Secure service activated?

This service will be activated upon the confirmation of your registration completion or from the effective date VIB officially provide this service.

6. Do I need any device/software installed for this service?

You are encouraged to update your mobile phone number in order to receive OTP sent by VIB via SMS. Otherwise, you do not need to install any software to use this service.

for a safe and secure payment.
