VIB accompanied the Banking Industry Digital Transformation event in 2024

On May 8, 2024, at the National Convention Center, the Vietnam International Bank (VIB) was honored to participate in the "Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector 2024" event hosted by the State Bank of Vietnam, themed "Expanding Connectivity and Developing the Digital Ecosystem."

Prime Minister Phan Minh Chinh, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong, and representatives from state agencies visited the VIB booth at the Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector event in 2024.

At the event, VIB showcased its prominent digital technology solutions, including the MyVIB digital bank with AI Voice technology and augmented reality (AR); VIB Checkout, which turns smartphones into POS devices for payments; and VIB Verse, offering an exploration experience of VIB city bank products and services through Oculus virtual reality glasses. The VIB booth attracted attention from government leaders, state agencies, and numerous delegates who participated in the experiments.

During the thematic seminar on the morning of May 8, Mr. Tran Nhat Minh - Deputy General Manager and Director of VIB's Digital Banking Division presented "Integrating Technology to Develop Smart Financial Services for Small and Medium Enterprises in Mobile Banking." VIB introduced specific digital financial solutions for small and medium enterprise clients, such as the iBusiness account package for individual entrepreneurs, and the sBusiness account package for micro-enterprises and household businesses, alongside the digital VIB Checkout bank.

VIB Checkout is a comprehensive payment and financial management solution for micro-enterprises, household businesses, and individual entrepreneurs. With VIB Checkout, VIB is the first bank to integrate a Soft POS directly into the digital banking app, transforming smartphones into mobile POS devices without the need for traditional POS machine installations, thereby saving business costs.

Also, during the event, VIB was honored to receive a commendation from the Governor of the State Bank for the Technology Services Division for its excellent performance in implementing the digital transformation plan for the banking sector according to Decision 810/QĐ-NHNN.

From 2016 to 2023, the growth rate of transactions through digital channels increased 50 times, with 340 million transactions in 2023. In the first quarter of 2024, 96% of retail banking transactions were performed digitally, with millions of customers using digital banking services every month.
