2. Details of the Promotion program
2.1 General Regulation
- Spending transactions: are spendings and purchases transactions made by the Customer with Max Card for goods and services payment transaction1 based on the Customer's own legally personal consumption purposes2 via POS and the Internet at card-accepting points of sales (or merchants) and accounting entries are recorded on VIB card system during the promotion period as follow:
- Spending transactions of Supplementary Card will be recorded to the Primary Card; or
- Spending transactions of Primary, Supplementary Cards are recorded separately for each Card depending on each program regulated details in this terms and conditions.
- Special transactions: are spending transactions for the game, mobile recharge and gift cards, or transactions happened at merchants that VIB determines that is the working place of the Cardholder3 (including the case of Cardholder's working place is only a store, branch, holding company, subsidiary company of its merchants or companies with having the same holding company, belonging to the same Group/Corporation of its merchants)
- MCC (Merchant Category Code):
- MCC is the merchant category code list determined depending on the MCC code established by seller and acquiring bank as the regulation of the international card schemes.
- MCC recorded in the VIB system serves as the basis for refund eligibility. VIB shall bear no responsibility for refunding in cases where the seller's MCC code is inaccurate or does not correspond with the eligible MCC for refunds, or where the transaction involves an MCC that is inconsistent with the actual business activity.
- The type of amount will be excluded in the spending value of the promotion:
- Goods and Service’s Tax;
- Monthly installment amount of Installment Plan Program4, debited adjustment transaction and other fees/interests according to the Card’s tariffs and interest rate.
- Transactions without MCC code such as QR code payment, bill payment via Max application5
- Down Payment/Earnest Money transactions, or payment relating to real-estate transfer (including land usage rights and/or assets attached to the land).
- Utilities payment transaction at the merchants such as electricity, water, telephone, internet, television.
- Payment transactions have MCC code is 4900, 4814.
- Insurance contract fee payment which Cardholder is not the Buyer6, payment transaction for the advance payment of the refundable value of the Insurance Policy.
- Payment transactions at online advertising merchants (including but unlimited Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Tiktok Ads) excepting the special regulations according to the corresponding ones to each specific card product as regulated by VIB in period.
- Transaction is recorded on the Statement on the billing cycle date after the Card has been cancelled.
2.2 Rewards Program for Max Card
2.2.1 Offering 1: Get points according to the Value of Spending Transactions
- Customers register one of the following Membership Tier:
- Starter;
- Plus;
- Pro;
- Elite;
- Customers register one of the following Spending Categories:
- Shopping;
- Travel;
- Dining;
- Entertainment;
- Online Transactions;
- Registration Method: Customers may register to select a Spending Category Group and/or a Membership Package via the Max application and/or other registration channels implemented by VIB from time to time.
- Validity of the Spending Category Group: The Spending Category Group will take effect from the time the Customer successfully completes the registration. If the Customer registers to change the Spending Category Group, the promotion will apply according to the newly registered Spending Category Group from the time of the new registration, and such change will not affect any Reward Points that have already been granted under the previously registered Spending Category Group.
- Membership Package Validity:
- In case the Customer newly registers for or upgrades to a Membership Package with higher benefits:
The new Membership Package will be applied and take effect immediately once the Customer completes the registration and the system confirms it successfully. Such upgrade will not change or affect any Reward Points or benefits that have already been earned or granted under the previous Membership Package. - In case the Customer changes to a Membership Package with lower benefits:
A new Membership Package will be recorded once the Customer completes the registration and the system confirms it successfully. However, the Customer will continue to enjoy the benefits of the current Membership Package until the end of its paid validity cycle. After the current Membership Package cycle ends, the new Membership Package will officially take effect for the next cycle. This change will not affect any Reward Points or benefits that have already been earned or granted under the previous Membership Package.
- In case the Customer newly registers for or upgrades to a Membership Package with higher benefits:
- Membership Package Cycle: Each time a Customer successfully registers for a Membership Package, the corresponding benefits will apply for 03 (three) statement cycles from the effective date. At the end of each cycle, the Membership Package will be automatically renewed for the next 03 (three) statement cycles, together with the applicable Membership Package fee based on the package in effect at the time of renewal, in accordance with the fee schedule announced by VIB from time to time, unless the Customer requests to adjust or terminate the Membership Package. Any request to adjust or terminate the Membership Package must be submitted before the end of the current Membership Package cycle.
- Reward Points Earning Rate: Reward Points are calculated by multiplying the applicable rate by the transaction amount. The rate varies based on the selected Spending Category Group and Membership Package, as detailed below:

2.2.2 Offering 2: Primary Cardholders are eligible for complimentary airport lounge access or airport fast-track services as follows:
- Elite Membership Package: Primary Cardholders will automatically receive 02 complimentary airport lounge or airport fast-track service visits per year.
- If a Customer holds multiple Cards eligible under this Promotion Program, the benefit will be granted on only one Card, being the Card that provides the highest number of visits.
- If a Customer’s Card is terminated (at the Customer’s request or by VIB) and later reissued, the Customer will not be eligible for additional visits if the previous Card had already received such benefits within the last 12 months.
- Eligibility Requirement: The Card must be activated, and the Elite Membership Package fee must be successfully charged.
- All Membership Packages: Primary Cardholders will receive 01 airport lounge or airport fast-track service visit for every VND 30,000,000 of overseas spending (transactions made at merchants located outside Vietnam and processed in foreign currency).
- There is no limit on the number of additional visits granted.
- These benefits apply only while the Card remains active (including cases where the Card is not temporarily blocked due to violations of card issuance and usage terms) and the Customer is not in breach of these Promotion Terms and Conditions at the time the benefit is granted.
- Airport lounge access and airport fast-track services are provided by third-party service providers and are subject to their respective terms and conditions.
- Once redeemed, lounge or fast-track visits cannot be cancelled or refunded at the Customer’s request, unless otherwise determined by VIB.
3. Process, methods and procedures for receiving rewards
3.1 Rewards accumulated according to the spending transactions
3.1.1 Rewards will be automatically calculated by VIB Card system credited and shown on Max application, monthly Card statement (are also used the Rewards Account) based on the spending transactions that meet the program's conditions.
3.1.2 Rewards redemption: Redemption to the amount credited to Card account / Annual Fee / Gift7
- During the Card’s validity period and this promotion, Customer must go through Max application to:
- Convert the points into the amount credited to Card account; or
- Convert the points into the gift; or
- Convert the points into the annual fee
- The redeemed reward points into Gift / Annual Fee / Amount will be specifically regulated according to the redemption category at the time Cardholder process /automatically redeemed by VIB, will be notified by VIB or shown on Max application;
- The number of points on the Rewards Account will decrease in proportion to the number of successfully redeemed points
3.2 General provisions on reward payment
3.2.1 In case the customer converts the points into a gift, the last time VIB is responsible for transferring the gift redeemed by the customer is 30 days from the date the customer successfully redeems it or 45 days if the redemption date success falls on holidays, Tet.
3.2.2 In case the Customer converts to an annual fee, the VIB card system will automatically record the Customer's annual fee waiver for the next year after the Customer successfully converts.
3.2.3 VIB is not responsible for any loss, damage (including but unlimited to indirect and derivative losses) or any personal accident resulting from participation in the Program or as a result of the receipt or use of any gift or service, except as provided by Law.
3.2.4 Customers enjoying promotions/gifts must pay taxes and fees in accordance with current law (if any).
3.3 Rewards points regulation
3.3.1 Customers are not allowed to use, buy, sell, exchange, gift, transfer, transfer the accumulated reward points (not yet redeemed).
3.3.2 Customer cannot redeem points if Customer's Card is locked for any reason.
3.3.3 Any and/or all accumulated rewards points will immediately expire and VIB will not be required to refund, renew or compensate in the following cases:
- Reward points accumulated over 06 months from the time of being credited to Rewards Account and not yet redeemed by Customer and/or VIB;
- Cancelled card;
- Expired card;
- Customers incur overdue debts at VIB Cards are converted into another type of VIB credit card products;
- The Customer violates the Terms and Conditions of Card usage of the Card product that the Customer is using.
3.3.4 Successfully redeemed rewards points will not be canceled or refunded upon request from the Customer in any case, unless VIB decides otherwise.
3.3.5 For Lotusmiles Miles (which have been redeemed): The query, management and use of Lotusmiles Miles will comply with the regulations of Vietnam Airlines' Lotusmiles Program.
4. Regulations on handling reverted transactions, transactions not eligible for promotion
- Any refunded Card transaction for which the Customer has been entitled to a promotion for the amount of such transaction (including transactions to receive rewards points and/or transactions to Pay with Points to enjoy promotions), Customer is obliged to return to VIB the corresponding reward points. Specifically, the corresponding reward points will be deducted with the existing points of customer’s Rewards Account, and/or, if the Rewards Account is not enough points to be debited, VIB will debit with a negative value (Debit) to the Customer's Rewards Account (Debited Points). The debited points will be processed according to the provisions of Session c below.
- Any transaction that VIB suspects is an invalid transaction (including fraudulent or abusive acts to enjoy promotions including transactions to receive Rewards Points and/or transactions to payment by Points to enjoy promotions) based on information about time, place of transaction or other factors, VIB has the right to request and within 05 working days from the time VIB requests the Customer to financial invoice provision service as prescribed by law8 in the name of the Customer that lists the details of the purchase of goods such as information used goods and services of the Customer (“Transaction Proof”) for VIB to check.
- In order to limit the cases where the Customer abuses the promotion, as soon as the Transaction Proof is requested, the amount of points corresponding to the amount of transactions that the Customer must provide Transaction Proofs will be deducted by VIB from the Customer's existing points in the Rewards Account, and/or, if the Customer’s Rewards Account Customer's is not having enough point to deduct, VIB will bebit to Customer's Rewards Account (Debited Points). The number of Debited Points will be processed as specified below and/or at Point c below.
- In case VIB determines that the Transaction Proof is appropriate and/or the Customer's VIB Credit Card payment transactions are valid under this Program regulations, the spending amount of such transaction will be is counted to enjoy the promotion under this program, VIB will cancel the deducted and/or debited action for the reward points corresponding to the amount of transactions eligible for the promotion.
- In case the Customer fails to provide/incompletely provides Proof of Transaction Documents within the time limit requested by VIB and/or VIB determines whole/partial that the Transaction Proof is inappropriate and/or partial/whole the payment transactions by the Customer's VIB Credit Card is invalid, the partial/whole spending amount of such transactions will not be included in the preferential spending amount of this program. VIB will not cancel the deduction and/or Debit of the points corresponding to the amount of transactions that are not eligible for the promotion.
- The Debited Points will be converted into cash according to item d below when the Card is invalidated or at another time as stipulated by VIB from time to time. This amount will be debited to the Card account, and the Customer must return this amount to VIB no later than the Due Date in the Statement. The provisions of Article 8 and other relevant provisions of the VIB Credit Card Terms and Conditions will be applied to the partial/whole amount of late payment (if any).
- The above-mentioned conversion rate of Debited Points to money will be made in the Conversion List announced/listed on MyVIB by VIB (except for the number of points accumulated under section 8.4, the relevant regulations will apply). to Miles under the Lotusmiles Program - Vietnam Airlines at the time VIB converts the Debited Points into cash. In case at the time of redemption, the redemption list has not been announced/listed by VIB on MyVIB and /or in the Redemption List there is no content on determining the specific conversion rate with the relevant Card, the conversion rate will be determined 1 point = 1 VND
5. Other regulations
- Customers are entitled to receive rewards points based on actual spending arising from the program launch date.
- VIB has the right to change and adjust the redemption rate of accumulated rewards points, or change any terms and conditions of the program during the program period at its discretion. The latest regulation will be applied after 7 days from the date of publication on VIB's website: www.vib.com.vn. Amendments/additions will be notified to the competent authority in accordance with regulations.
- This VIB’s promotion program is registered with the competent state agency in accordance with the law. In the event that the program conflicts with any legal provisions or directives of any government agency, the program will be changed, canceled or modified to be consistent with its provisions of law, directives.
- All VIB’s data and information relating to this Program includes and is binding on all Customers. VIB reserves the right to correct errors in case the number of rewards points is calculated incorrectly, even if the Card has been terminated.
- In case the Customer has a complaint, the Customer needs to make a complaint (if any) via phone number 1900 2200 (1,000 đ/min) of Customer Care Department 24/7 - VIB to be resolved by VIB. In which:
- If the Customer complains that the Customer's transaction was not counted/incorrectly included in the value of the promotional spending transaction and the Customer provides valid purchasing documents/invoices, VIB will check. check and adjust
- Complaint resolution will be based on the results of VIB examining and evaluating the following information, records, documents and data:
- Information and documents provided by the Customer; and
- Information and documents collected by VIB; and
- Statement containing spending transactions related to Reward Points that the Customer claims; and
- Other relevant records and data.
- Complaint resolution time will be based on the time it takes VIB to check and evaluate the information, records, documents, and data mentioned above.
- The result of the complaint resolution will be notified by VIB to the phone number and/or email address registered by the Cardholder with VIB after the complaint has been resolved, but not earlier than 10 working days from the statement date of the spending transaction related to the Reward Points disputed by the Customer.
- During the period in which the Customer is submitting a complaint to VIB, as well as during the time VIB is handling the complaint, the Customer shall not disclose complaint information to any third party, nor initiate any complaint, denunciation, or legal action against VIB with any third party.
- In the event of a dispute related to this program, the dispute will be resolved according to the agreement between VIB and the Customer, in accordance with these rules and the provisions of law. The customer does not perform any act of providing disputed information to any third party, does not make any complaint, denunciation or lawsuit at any third party against VIB in the time the Customer and VIB are settling the dispute.
- The Customer confirms that by participating in this program, the Customer has accepted these Terms in its entirety, and commits to strictly comply with the provisions of these regulations.
Notes:
(1)Types of goods and services are determined in accordance with current law (excluding vouchers, coins, cards, stars on the internet environment, or similar platform with any other names identified by VIB).
(2)The Customer's own legally personal consumption purpose is shown by Customer's information in the Person/Buyer/Unit Name/Tax ID number fields on the Transaction Proofing Document.
(3)The Cardholder's working place is determined based on the information provided by the Cardholder on the Card Issuance Application and/or the Cardholder's declared information recorded on VIB's system and/or information determined by VIB based on other sources including but not limited to social insurance information, personal income tax finalization.
(4)The principal amount of installment transaction is still included in the value of spending to receive points in the statement period that transaction is recorded.
(5)Max Application – Powered by VIB is a mobile application developed by Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) that allows users to apply for credit cards and refer others to apply for cards via mobile devices running iOS or Android operating systems.
(6)Payment transactions of Prudential Insurance fee by VIB credit cardholder to the cardholder themselves (understood as Cardholder's name is the same as the Insurance contranct's name) via Internet Banking/MyVIB is still acceptable in the specific rewards program (if any).
(7)Other types of gifts deployed and announced by VIB from time to time are different from the specific types of gifts specified in other Sections in Article 9.1.2 of these Rules.
(8)Invoices must have the following contents as prescribed in Article 4 of Decree 123/2020/ND-CP, including: Name of invoice; invoice symbol; notation of invoice model number; Some bills; the name of the invoice and the name of the organization that has received the invoice printing for ordered invoices; name, address, tax identification number of the seller; buyer's name, address, tax identification number; name, unit of calculation, quantity and unit price of goods and services; into cash without value added tax; value-added tax rate; the total amount of value-added tax according to each tax rate (in the case of a value-added invoice); Total payment amount; buyer's signature, seller's signature, seller's stamp (if any) and invoice date, month and year. In which, the merchant's name, address, tax code must be the same as the merchant's information / the same as the transaction location on the statement.
