For the first time in Viet Nam, Mastercard cardholders can shop with their mile rewards

Vietnam International Bank (VIB) has introduced the new feature ‘Pay with rewards” that allows VIB Travel Élite cardholders use their mile rewards that were collected from daily card spending for all shopping payment. VIB and Mastercard team-up to present this new feature for the first time in Viet Nam in order to bring more convenient payment options by using mile rewards, especially in the context of the limitation in airplane travel.

Pay with rewards, shop 0 VND

VIB Travel Élite is a credit card that focuses on customers that have a high demand for shopping abroad, the card offers attractive mile rewards for all spending and the foreign currency conversion transaction fees that is one of the lowest rates on the market with only 1,75%. The mile rewards can be actively redeemed into coupons, annual fees, cash and gifts via MyVIB in less than 30 seconds.  

Besides that, with the ‘Pay with rewards’ feature, customers can also redeem miles to pay for all their purchases easily, including POS and online transactions. This is outstanding convenience compared to limited payment at a few specific brands or applying to the online shopping only that has been deploying in the market. 

The method of payment with mile rewards from VIB is very simple with a few taps right on mobile phone and can be flexible to turn on/off this feature on cardholders’ demand of accumulating and spending mile rewards.

For pre-purchase payment, Travel Élite cardholders only need to turn on “Auto redemption for next purchase” at transaction history screen of “Pay with Rewards”. After that, mile rewards will be redeemed automatically for all transactions from 100.000 VND.

For post-purchase payment, customer turn on the feature on MyVIB, choose the transaction and submit the redeem required at transaction history screen of “Pay with Rewards”. Purchases from VND 100,000 within the previous 30 days will be displayed for choosing.

The amount corresponding to the redeemed mile rewards will be automatically credited to the Credit Card account within 2-3 days from the successful completion of the redemption transaction.

Customers can open Travel Elite card anywhere, completely online even on the weekend with a few simple steps: access the credit card page on the website https://vib.com.vn, choose Travel Elite card and click ‘Sign up now, fill the information in 3-5 minutes, receive the credit approval results up to 200 million VND after 15-30 minutes and get the virtual card via MyVIB app after 5 seconds to shopping online. Customers who open new credit cards at VIB from now to 31/12/2021 will be waived the first-year annual fee when the total spending reaches 5 million VND within 45 days from the issued card date.
