Important warning fraud about Biometric data update

To avoid the risk of fraud and impersonation during the biometric data update process, VIB advises customers to note the following:
Only update biometric data through one of the following methods: via the customer's MyVIB application or directly at VIB branches/transaction points nationwide.
- DO NOT update biometric data through any other websites or applications.
- DO NOT provide OTP, passwords, card numbers, security codes, personal information, bank account details, ID card images, or facial images to anyone, including bank employees.
- Be extremely cautious and do not access unfamiliar links sent via chat, SMS, or email to download and install biometric data collection applications on your phone.
According to Decision No. 2345 of the State Bank, from July 1, 2024, transactions will require biometric verification when:
- Transferring money online over VND 10 million per transaction or a total of VND 20 million per day.
- Performing the first transaction or logging into MyVIB on a new device.
- Other transactions such as payments, savings, e-wallets, etc.
