Stay alert to credit card scams

Recently, the market has recorded numerous reports from card users about fraudsters impersonating bank employees to approach them with offers to open credit cards online, withdraw money from cards, and increase card limits, thereby committing fraud and misappropriating assets.

In response to this situation, VIB continuously communicates the latest scam trends to help customers stay vigilant and has proactively coordinated with relevant authorities to protect user rights, contributing to maintaining the healthy development of the Vietnamese credit card market.

Customers are reminded to safeguard their personal information and NEVER share card-related details (including card numbers and one-time transaction passwords - OTP) with anyone, even bank employees. VIB cardholders who have had their credit card assets misappropriated due to providing card information to fraudsters impersonating bank employees who called to offer credit limit increases or fee reimbursements for card use from July 2023 to February 2024 should promptly report to the relevant authorities for assistance:
